What you need for a perfect staycation

Based on my staycation history, if I were to write a book on ‘travel essentials,’ it would take me a minute.

It doesn’t matter where you decide to travel; as long as you’ve planned a staycation, it is crucial to have the travel essentials to make your staycation pleasant.

You know I can’t write this blog post without sharing a story.

Some years ago, long before I got married and relocated to the UAE, my parents and I went on a staycation to Dubai. Before we travelled, I told my mom to take some sweaters as that period is winter in Dubai. She didn’t believe me because she’s used to the Dubai summer.

When we arrived, she was surprised that I knew it would be cold; what is the weather app for? She got some sweaters and was ready to beat the cold. In summary, don’t be like my mom.

Are you planning to travel to another country? Knowing the weather, culture, and religion of the country you intend to visit is crucial as this will give you an idea of your travel essentials.

I put together a list of travel items for a staycation because I can’t travel without these items.

Jacket or sweaters– It is advisable to put on a cardigan or have at least one jacket or sweatshirt in your box, especially if the city you plan to visit is cold.

Shirts/Dresses– if you are vacationing in a summer region, add some summer shirts, tank tops, tops, and dresses to your box.

Trousers and leggings– Leggings/jeggings are a must-have in the box; however, if you are on a business trip, you will need a set or two of corporate wear.

Sleepwear– Your sleepwear should make you most comfortable at night; therefore, remember to check the weather forecast before packing.

Bathing essentials– glove sponge, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, body oil/body lotion, and skincare products.

Chargers– You should know the gadgets you are travelling with before adding the chargers to the bag.

Headphones, buds, and Smartwatch– For music lovers and everyone who loves multitasking.

Purse, Wallet, Fanny pack, Passports etc.

Other travel essentials include:

Phones/laptops/tabs.
Makeup essentials.
Hair essentials.
Laundry essentials.

How do you find this list? It is optional to take all these along with you. Additionally, if it is a day’s trip, you will only need some of these items.

I usually travel with all I need so I will be safe; on the contrary, you can purchase most of these items on arrival to avoid travelling with many bags.
