For about three months, I have been chatting with people interested in creating a blog and making passive income. One of their frequently asked questions is “what blog niche is easy and profitable?”. Firstly, I believe there are other elements to consider if you want to run a successful blog, not just the niche. However, this isn’t to trivialize the importance of having a niche blog.

While most content creators focus on a particular niche, others believe a niche blog will limit their creativity and skills.

When I started blogging in 2016, my main goal was to share hair tips and make it a hairstyle hub. Gradually, I became interested in other niches – fashion, travelling, cooking and so on. 2019 was the year I made the transition from hair blogging to lifestyle blogging (hallelujah!). Not only did my blog views increase, but lifestyle blogging also made me more creative, provided me with other financial opportunities and improved my knowledge of various fields.

Therefore, if one of your goals for the year is to make passive income through blogging, these are some profitable niches that are easy to start.
  1. Fashion, beauty & home decor: This is basically a design blog. Most fashion blogger also share home decor tips on their blog. Two of my favorite fashion bloggers are Leena and Amanda; they are sisters!
  2. Travel: As a travel blogger, you get exposed to a wide range of opportunities and share your experiences with the world. You should definitely check out this amazing travel blog themacarongirl.
  3. Faith-based: I consider this one of the easiest niches to start because you literally just share your faith and encourage people struggling to grow in the Lord. An example of a consistent Christian blogger is thinkaboutsuchthings.
  4. Health and Fitness: I mean, who doesnt want to keep fit? Another way fitness bloggers earn passive income from their blog is by selling their products. An example of a successful fitness blogger is Katie Dunlop.
  5. Parenting: I am an example of that parent that will go through various parenting blog just to be sure I am doing the right thing (judge me not). One of the parenting pages I visit regularly is curious parenting.
  6. Lifestyle: And, this is the sector you’ll find multitalented bloggers. One of my favorite lifestyle blogs is Graceful lifestyle blog. *wink*
  7. Fictional: This is a form of blogging that can be defined as any forms of narrative written and published through online web journals such as LiveJournal. Fictional blogs are a changing phenomenon with great potential to young writers.
