I finally visited Albert park, guys! I started planning to visit the park even before I arrived at Middlesbrough; however, I saw the park three weeks after my arrival, so this was how it went.
The Story.
On a cold, windy day, my son was quite bored of being indoors, so I thought going for a walk with him would be nice. Then my husband suggested we go to the park- and that my friends were a fabulous idea.
It is about 15 minutes walk from Cleveland Centre. On getting there, I realized how memorable the park is.
To my surprise, the park is bigger than I thought; there are various sections to make everyone feel welcome.
The autumn leaf colours, long walkways, plaques beside the trees, breath of fresh air, and the cold wind made me in touch with my senses.
It reminded me of my experience at the National Children’s Park and Zoo in Abuja.
The history of Albert Park.
Prince Arthur of Connaught officially opened the park on 11 August 1868. It was built on land bought by Henry Bolckow specifically to provide a public park for the people of Middlesbrough as the town expanded.
About Albert Park.
Albert park is a free, family-friendly public park with a boating lake, long tennis court, kids park, skating rink, and so on. It is located in Middlesbrough. The site occupies about 29 hectares and is home to a variety of trees with plaques associated with trees planted for significant events. Beside the park is the famous Dorman museum, which I will blog about in a few weeks.
What to do in Albert Park.
There are a variety of activities to do in the park alone or a group. The most popular activities include football, long tennis, jogging, and kids’ activities.
Additionally, a Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9 am. You can visit the Dorman Museum beside the park if you are strong enough for another adventure.
