I have been doing many new things lately, one of which is experiencing the sunrise at the
beach. Oh, how I love my “out of the box” outings these days! Just before you start wondering how it happened, here’s the gist.
As you all know, babies sometimes tend to suggest when adults will go to bed, especially when they haven’t been so active in a while. My son changed our sleeping schedule, so we’ve become more active in the evenings/ night; it’s been frustrating. Yesterday, my husband suggested we all go to an open beach in Dubai to spend the evening, which was a fantastic idea.
We decided to go to Mamzar beach Dubai since we’ve been there before with some friends. The first time we visited, we went with another family, which was fun; that’s their go-to spot for outdoor night fun. We got there with our friends at about 8 pm and left at 2 am; this happened some weeks ago. Since then, my husband and I have Iooked forward to another visit. It is safe to be there at night. There are two tea shops/minimart that run 24 hours services, lifeguards, cleaners making sure it’s tidy, public toilets at strategic locations, vending machines almost everywhere, showers & changing rooms. It also has running tracks along the beach for a walk with a breathtaking view, a bike path, benches and sitting area for a perfect picnic, a free outdoor gym area and lots more. It basically has all you need for a comfortable experience.
Our intention wasn’t to watch the sunrise because we got there at 12 am-ish. Still, we extended our stay by the time we realized that none of us was ready to sleep, especially the Lil man. We spent more time listening to music, watching people have fun, creating a picnic spot, walking (for nearly 5 hours and covered a distance of 7 km) and taking pictures. When it was 5 am, we decided to watch the sunrise, which happened at 6 am-ish, if I’m not mistaking. That moment was golden and priceless! We finally left the beach at 7 am. What an adventurous night! I still can’t believe we stayed at the beach from 12 am to 7 am; well, anything is possible in the UAE.
We went along with essential items to make the experience more fun and comfortable, like:
– Baby bag, check out what’s in my baby bag HERE
– Speaker
– Mat
– Snacks
– Drinks
– Extra clothing
– Money (of course!)
For those who may want to explore this venue, my few tips are for you:
- Don’t forget to go with all you need. You don’t want to get there and start regretting it.
- Weekends, public holidays, or when you know you don’t have any important to do the next day are the best times to go.
- It’s best to go in your private car or a taxi.
- You can go with friends (we had a double date with an awesome family last week at the same location).
- Don’t go at the peak of summer; it’s the UAE, the weather can be so hot.
What fun thing have you done lately?
