Today, I will be discussing what many (if not all) ladies are passionate about- EXOTIC SMELL, yes you read right! I will be “talking” about some skincare products with the most alluring blend of fruity, floral, fresh, woody and spice perfume notes.
Yes, I know it’s been a while since I posted about skincare products, so I will make it up to you today.

After reading some posts on Pinterest, I purchased most of these products, and my skincare guru sister recommended others.
To help you understand this review better, I described some of the fragrances according to how it makes me feel, and not just about the scent family. So, Let’s get right into it.
Skincare products for a long-lasting heavenly smell.
1. Yves Rocher Vanille Bourbon Shower Gel.
I got to know about this product in 2016 when my sister came to visit. At first, I acted like it was just one of those shower gels with the exotic fragrance, but on the third day of her visit, I humbled myself and asked what product she was using. I have been repurchasing this shower gel since she told me about it. I particularly love vanilla- fragrance, ice cream, cake, etc.
2.a. Loreal hyaluronic face cream.
Some people may disagree with me, but I love, love this cream not just because of its mild scent but because it contains hyaluronic acid, which makes my face look hydrated and moisturised, giving it a smooth and plum look. Also, it has a low SPF level, but it is better than nothing. Back to the scent, I prefer to use products with a mild scent good enough to make me close my eyes and have a dreamy look when rubbing it on my face and neck. Although it claims to be fragrance-free, my sense of smell says otherwise.
b. Water aloe mix fragrance.
This Fast absorbing hydra genius aloe water releases hydration on the face for more than 24 hours and can be used alone. Its mild fresh scent was one of the reasons I made it one of my essential liquid moisturisers since 2020. Asides from that, it is oil-free
and lightweight. The mild fragrance makes me feel I did the right thing or am on the right path whenever I use it.
There are other face creams, serums, and moisturisers, but I’ll write about those skincare products later.
3.a. Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Oil.
So this is one of the products that I saw on Pinterest and decided to try. I couldn’t let it slide because I have been using vaseline skin care products for ages. Boy, it smells good!!. Its mild sweet cocoa butter smell makes me feel I can accomplish whatever I want; more like a motivational fragrance (talk about the smell of hot chocolate), if there is anything like that. I use it during the day, especially on my neck, hands and feet.
b. Hello Halo Dry Oil.
I saw this product for quite a while on the internet, and I guess it was the colour that got me attracted to it. In my opinion, it has a little touch of middle east scent- oud, amber and mild argan scent. This is one of the body oils that will make me remember the UAE if I decide to leave. I started using it this year, usually before I go to bed.
4.a. Bath & Body Works Vanilla.
This fragrance says to me, ‘girl, you are perfect the way you are!’. Its vanilla scent is extraordinarily unique. Its girly vanilla smell is quite strong, perfect for a date night and casual meetings.
b. Guess Body Mist.
Just as pink as it looks, this body mist gives a girly vibe that leaves you channelling your feminine power into your daily task. I usually wear it during the day. I haven’t got tired of repurchasing since I started using it in 2020.
5.a. Hugo Boss.
This is one of my go-to perfumes that isn’t Guess. I love Guess perfumes a lot so it is always refreshing to use something else. Last year, I wrote about my favourite perfumes, so you check out my favourite scents. The passionate fragrance has a fruity-floral smell, almost like this Guess perfume but with some class.
b. Guess girl.
Again, I enjoy feeling feminine. This perfume makes me feel like the girly girl that I unapologetically am.
6.a. Boot Live + Be Awakening Glow Body Whipped Cream.
Do you ever feel a scent can send you to a dreamy place? That’s what this cream does for me. I use it mostly when I want to enjoy my alone time resting and thinking of good moments while the perfect smell of shea butter, cocoa butter, and almond gives me good thoughts. Also, in my opinion, using this cream inspires creative thoughts & ideas; as the name implies, awakening glow, a vibrant citrus glow bursts into focus. It has a mix of fresh & oriental scents.
b. Baby Seba Med Extra Soft Cream.
On the other hand, this cream leaves me feeling like a baby for as long as I rub it. Its mild fragrance is perfect for a good night’s sleep. My son introduced it to me; lol, no, I love how it made my son smell, especially when I hold him at night. I guess it is safe to say we both use it at night. That’s mommy’s little secret. Its fragrance is (in my words) the combination of innocence, clean, fragile, and cute kisses!

Research has shown that losing the sense of smell negatively impacts the quality of life, even driving some people toward clinical depression.
In summary, since I can be both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated, I derive extrinsic motivation by smelling good. These products have tremendously improved the way I feel over the years. They help with motivation, positivity and a better view of life. Also, they make me have many memories; for instance, when I use the Neutrogena body oil, it brings back memories of my time in Nigeria last year. I have dealt with anosmia for years; therefore, I am always grateful for the times my sense of smell is accurate.
