Having a self-care routine is one of the best things you can do for yourself. I read an interesting blog post about self-care kits a while ago that got me thinking about many things, such as how I feel after using some of my most treasured products whenever I have those days. I don’t have a self-care box at home because the items are in strategic locations in the house for easier access; however, I arrange the products in a little box whenever I am travelling. Imagine getting a personalized gift that has most of your favourite self-care products. I don’t know about you, but I would be so excited.

The products I have included in my box are:

1. For the body

– Body oil.

 – Hair oil.

– Face care product.

– Socks.

– Perfume.

– Nail care kit. 

– Tissue packs.

– Elastic hairband.

– Face massage roller.

2. For the mind

– Scented candles: Vanilla and Lavender.

– Journal and pen.

– Card games.

– Calming tea.

– Colouring book.

– Word search puzzle books.

According to Daniela Paolone, Los Angeles-based therapist, “creating a self-care kit can be useful for those struggling with mental health because it helps to reinforce the message that there are things they can do”. While many have a self-care kit in a bag, others prefer to have a box or basket at home. 

If you’re wondering what to put together in a self-care gift box, there are several ideas to help you get started; however, it has to be thoughtful, personal, and less sophisticated. Although ladies mostly use the items in my self-care kit, you can add what is most personal to you to create yours.
