meet rita the oversabi lawyer

Don’t get confused, guys! She indeed is an interesting oversabi lawyer :). Oversabi is pidgin for clever clogs; you will fully understand soon. I’m so excited about this interview because I enjoy meeting people and knowing more about them, especially their career.

A few months ago, I was captivated by the posts she shared on Facebook. There was so much knowledge in the post, and I instantly that I had found the perfect person to interview!

I reached out to her, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Join me as I welcome Rita to this special post *claps*.
  1. Hi Rita, it’s such a delight to finally have you here! Kindly tell us about yourself.

Hey Grace, My full name is Somtoochi Rita Oruche. Also known as Rita Oruche or Somtoochi Oruche. I am a business lawyer and legal strategist.

I work as an associate with Brickmans Law, and I also run an online private practice- Bridgegold Legal. I started an educative platform in 2019 #oversabilawyer now #legallyyes, where I educate business owners on their rights.

I currently have an LLB and a BL in law and was called to bar in 2018.

2. Fantastic! I am thrilled to know you’ve changed the name of your educative platform from #oversabilawyer to #legallyyes. So, what made you interested in becoming a Lawyer?

I became passionate about the law in secondary school. I realized that I hated injustice and bullying so much that it irritated me. Even as a student, I would advocate on behalf of other students to our seniors and teachers. That made me a target of bullying and less popular among seniors, but I could care less.

3. In your opinion, what are the common mistakes people make in the first few years of their business?

The most common mistake people make in the first few years is not having a lawyer for their business. Most people sign bad contracts and make mistakes that they might never recover from due to a lack of legal advice.

Secondly is running their business without keeping proper accounting records. Some people even mix their personal funds with that of the business.

4. I have seen some candid advice you’ve been serving on Facebook to make people aware of their rights; you already know that’s what made us have this interview (laughs). I want to know, what made you take that bold step?

Haha, what made me take that bold step was that I saw a need and rushed to fulfil it. That’s who I am. If I see where I can help, I would gladly help. Also, I am naturally able to teach. To break down complexities into simple, digestible balls. That’s how people perceive law- as complex. I try to break it down as well as I can.

A lot of people are ignorant of their legal rights. I love to educate, and this is what I have done.

5. Sadly, we have come to the end of the interview, but before you go, what advice do you have for aspiring lawyers?

The advice I have for students is, you can become. Whatever you choose to be.

Work hard, be consistent, and Kings would create a path to your doorpost.

Thank you. 🥰🥰🙏🥰

That’s it, guys! We’ve finally come to the end of the interview. I’m sure you enjoyed this interview episode. If you want to get some legal advice, register a company and so on, kindly send an email to her @bridgegoldlegal@gmail.com.

If you love this blog, kindly share the posts with your friends and loved ones. It will mean a lot to me to know your thoughts in the comments. Love, Grace
