bantu knot

So I finally tried the famous Bantu knot hairstyle a few days ago. How did I feel? Proudly African.

I didn’t plan to make the style, but when I saw it on Pinterest, I decided to do the same.

Since May, I have been rocking my wigs because this Dubai summer is something else; I don’t know why I’m still not used to it.

Anyway, back to the Bantu, I wanted something different from the wigs, so I sat there with my hair stylist. As she combed my hair, she expected me to tell her the hairstyle I had in mind, but I was blank. After a few minutes of jokingly telling her to cut my hair, that was when I remembered the Pinterest hairstyle.

She was shocked, but then she knew I always suggest the strangest ideas. When she said making my hair, I said a few words of prayer for the style; I mean, I wanted it to look good.

As she was done with my hair, I hesitated to look in the mirror, but I mean, “what would happen?”. My goodness, I liked what I saw 🙂

I styled it in two ways, letting the side braids dangle and hooking up the dangling braids. My stylist used half a pack of expression braids cut 3, and it took about an hour to get it done.

Check it out below.

Let me know if you’ve tried this style in the comments.
