Gold Souk- Dubai Mall

Do you know what it is like to feel you’ve completed a mission only to discover you spent hours doing the wrong thing? That was what happened when I visited The Gold Souk at Dubai Mall.

This post would have been about my experience in Souk Al Bahar but, I have decided to use my disappointment to my advantage.

My Gold Souk story goes like this:

I went to Dubai Mall to visit the famous Souk Al Bahar a while ago. When I got there, I spent some time figuring out the way to Souk Al Bahar, used the map and asked someone when I got confused. After a while, I located ‘The Souk’; I felt so excited not only because I found the place but because I could rest for a while.

After resting for a few minutes, I took pictures and videos of The Souk and left. On my way home, I decided to check out more information about The Souk before getting home; I was surprised to see ‘Souk Al Bahar Dubai Mall’ and ‘The Souk’ look nothing alike. The latter is the gold souk in Dubai Mall, yikes!

I felt disappointed in myself for not getting enough information about the place to know what Souk Al Bahar looks like or asking people if I was in the right place. I didn’t think it was necessary since I saw ‘The Souk’.

However, I thought about my experience and encouraged myself because others might go through a similar experience. Therefore, I knew the right thing to do was to blog about ‘The Souk’ and use the opportunity to inform people about the difference between the Souks so they won’t make the same mistake I made.

Overall, the gold souk was a nice place to be. This part of the Dubai Mall gives visitors a glimpse of the old Dubai. Its classic, tranquil ambience makes it a perfect spot for some alone time or to chill with your loved one.

The gold souk is a place to shop for gold from various outlets, dine, grab a cup of coffee, purchase some handy clothes from the souk kiosk and so on.

Souk means an Arab market or marketplace.

It was a quiet place to chill and unwind after walking around the mall for a while trying to locate the original destination.

If you’d like to do a little work on your computer in a place far from the hustle and bustle of the Dubai Mall, this should be your ideal spot.

• The Gold Souk is in the Dubai Mall with various entry points.
• Although it is an Arabian market for gold, it is a quiet and peaceful place.
• The Souk gives the old Dubai vibe.
• There are a variety of gold stores in the Souk.
• There is an ‘interesting’ dinosaur that tourists look to see.
• Lastly, for the Instagrammers, there are various instaworthy spots to do the needful.
