Finally, I got to play the famous “fashion game- dress up” with a fellow blogger! It took us about two weeks, 10+ emails, and many agreements (we barely had any disagreements) to “bake this blog post”.

Ladies and gents, allow me to introduce Kukana to you as she shares a little about herself and her fashion ideas for work.

Thank you so much, Grace, for having me! Hey, you all. I’m excited to share my work fashion tips with you but first, let me tell you about my passion for fashion.

I studied at UCLA Business-Economics and Pepperdine MBA and live in urban Los Angeles, CA. Although I work in a highly male-dominated industry, I express my creativity, professionalism, and femininity through fashion.

My blog inspires professional women to strive for financial independence and embrace their femininity through fashion. Overall I’m about the pursuit of happiness. Head over to my website for more about fashion HERE

Check out my work outfit ideas below.

Fashion Blogger Collaboration: Work Wardrobes by Kukana Ana.

1. Client Meeting

For meeting a client, the impression I need to create is professionalism. Therefore, I will be more likely to stay in one coloured outfit or suit. The brand I like for the suits is Theory. It’s classic, and the fabric is quality. And with quality, it comes with a cost as well. I usually wait until on sale. If I want to create a more feminine look, I put on a belt.

2. Zoom Presentation

My wardrobes tend to be bright colours for zoom presentation, at least on the top—red or yellow. If I wear a black or white top, I decorate with colourful accessories, like pink or red flower pins. I also wear red lipstick for zoom meetings. I think we are more and more zooming these days, but I feel it is not as effective as if we can see each other. So the key is to have the other party stay alert, and I think bright colours work.

3. Day to Night

Before the pandemic, this may have needed more effort. However, it may not be as much work as it is these days. Still, I think when you go out for a night, whether a date night or a small gathering event, wearing a black dress is an easy way to transform to a night from a day. Mainly, wear it with a jacket at work and evening wear with a shawl, scarf, and accessories to create a glamorous look.

4. Every day in the office

I feel everyday office outfits should reflect the office culture. If you work in conservative, more likely you will wear a dress or suit. If you work in the creative field, you may have more freedom about what to wear. When I first started working, I wore suits almost every day. Because I was working male-dominated field and I had just finished college, I wanted to be taken seriously. However, now, I have been a professional working woman for a while, and especially during the pandemic, I have to say I got relaxed. Still, I will try to present myself every day when I go to the office.

Let’s head over to Grace’s corner for her favorite casual wears.

Hey guys, as you already know, I’m Grace, a lifestyle blogger, and today ill be sharing my favourite weekend outfits. Before I give you the juice, let me tell you a little back story about why I love these casual outfits.

I live in the UAE, and to the disbelief of many, the UAE doesn’t experience heat all year long. One on hand, there is a season of extreme heat, and on the other, the weather is quite favourable; but sometimes it becomes a little too cold for me (I am allergic to cold weather).

Anyhow, now that we are in the “winter”, I wear outfits that make me feel warm and comfy. Usually, I prefer staying indoors during the weekends, but when I need to be out, I visit the malls, beaches, parks, and a few places tourist attractions; I mean, it’s Dubai, you can’t keep up with what’s new in the UAE.

Now that you understand the background story, I’ll go right into the main reasons the outfits below are my faves.

1. Jackets & kimono, leggings and boots fashion

This is my favourite outfit idea for a casual evening date with my partner or friends.

2. Dresses

I throw on a dress when I have no idea of the outfit to wear; also, they are the best wears for a busy day.

3. Sweatshirts, Jeans, and sneakers combo.

This combo is my go-to outfit for leisurely walking around the mall or recreational parks.

4. Sweatshirts & sweatpants.

Ah, the favourite! When I want to chill in the house or take my son for a walk in the neighbourhood, you’ll see me in a pair of sweatpants and sweatshirts. Also, it’s one of my favourite outfits for a weekend road trip.

5. T-shirts & Leggings.

This is my go-to outfit for a simple photoshoot session or a BOTIM call ( sadly, other forms of internet calls are not allowed in the other UAE).

In conclusion, I don’t dress to please the social media “fashion police”; instead, I according to my mood, the weather, and the occasion. In a way, that makes it easier to control my choices rather than go with the crowd.

If you love this blog, kindly share the posts with your friends and loved ones. It will mean a lot to me to know your thoughts in the comments. Love, Grace
