Photography: 6 Editing Trends on Capcut App

Have you ever wondered how the lady that announced recently on Facebook that she’s a blogger does a fine job of editing her photos by herself? Perhaps, you recently watched a YouTube video or Instagram story that had some interesting personalized memes and thought “will I ever get to this level of editing with my blog photos?”. Well, I am here with the best news, there is an app for that (in Salama Mohammed’s voice). Capcut photo & video editing app has added so much fun to my life! It is one of the free, easy-to-use photo apps used by both professional and amateur photographers.

According to most digital marketing specialists, the videos and photos edited on Capcut app plays a huge role in the increase of social media engagement and eventually, a positive ROI.

Since I discovered this app, my screentime increased significantly because I am always editing more videos and photos and learning more about the app’s features- it seems as if the app has got it all when it comes to editing, and the best new is it is FREE!!

The creators of Tiktok carefully designed this user-friendly app to produce a professional result- not only can you accentuate the beauty of your photos and videos by adding special effects, using filters, increasing the speed of your videos, but you can also now take your basic editing skills to a whole new level by creating memes with your photos & videos, changing or remove background, and lot more, how about that!

I will stop the long gist here 🙂 Below are the six ways to make your photos, videos, stories more interesting using Capcut App.

It is important to note these before we go further:
a. You’ll need to take photos and videos in the same background and wear the same or similar clothing.

b.  there are two sets of menus:
– The main menu regular
– Specific menu. This is specifically for the photos you want to edit.

Now we’ve got that out of the way, check out what you can do with Capcut editing app below.

1. Remove background.

Step one: Choose a photo or photos you want to edit and upload it to the app.
Step two: Select any photos and click on the ” remove background” feature.
There you have it.

2. Add plain background and text.
Step 1. After following the steps to remove background, unclick the photo, the main options will show, scroll to the last options, one of the options is “canvas”. Click on it and then click on the ‘background’. There are a lot of backgrounds to choose from.

Step 2. After selecting a plain background and choosing the size of your photo, you click on ” text” in the main menu. To get to the main menu, don’t click on your image; otherwise, it will lead you to the specific menu for editing your photos. Scroll left to the beginning of the options, and you’ll see “text”, there you’ll write what you want to add to the background.

3. Customize your background.

After following step 1 of the number 2 above, If you want to customize your background, instead of choosing one of the backgrounds in canvas, you will click on the icon that represents “gallery”. Then choose any of your photos, and it will automatically become your background while the original photo will be minimized. You can increase and reduce the size of the original picture.

4. 3D Zoom.
This feature doesn’t need you to change the background of your photo; however it is up to you to change your background if you want. The process is pretty straightforward.
Step 1. Select the photo and click on “style”, you can scroll right until you see the 3D zoom.

5. Video effects.
Also straightforward. All you need to do is choose ” effect” in the main menu (don’t select any video), then select the video effect. Once you are in, play around with any effects until you find what you like.

6. Create a meme.
This is a bit technical. I’ll break it down into six steps.

1. Select the photo you want and choose “remove background” in the specific menu.
2. Go back to main menu and select canvas.
3. Choose any background
4. Back to main menu, select overlay
5. Add another photo and resize both the first photo in the background and the overlay.
6. Notice the new photo has a different background, all you need do is click on it and choose “remove background”, and you will have two similar photos in the same background. Repeat these steps for videos and if you want to create more memes.
Note: these memes are ideal for marketing purposes where you add a write-up to the background and add the meme for fun. The reason I didn’t include descriptive photos is because you can refer to the photos above.
