When I started blogging, I felt lost and overwhelmed by what needed to be done. I had no one to guide me, and what made it worse was that I couldn’t relate to how people made blogging easy from day one. I decided to be my own coach, learn from my mistakes and grow from within.

As time went on, I started sharing my journey with people who wanted to know how I started and in one of such moments, I decided to create a guide for newbies to follow once they decide to be a blogger.

This ABC guide covers the basics of blogging- blogging essentials and items, blogging mindset and so on. This technique has kept me consistent in blogging and I hope it inspires you to do the same.

To be a consistent blogger, this is the ABC technique to follow:

A- Apps. There are various apps that can make blogging fun and easy. Such apps include Grammarly, Evernote, WordPress, MyAdsEarnings, Canva, Pinterest, etc.

B- Believe in yourself:

There are times you will feel that no one believes in you or what you are doing but you need to be intrinsically motivated to keep going.

C- Content:

Quality content will increase your engagements and views in the long run.

Collaboration:

Collaborating with other bloggers will increase your connection and engagement with people. It will also give you quality ideas to blog about.

Consistency & Commitment:

There are days you will feel like giving up, the way to keep pushing is to have a mission and vision statement. It will make you commited to whatever blogging tasks you have.

D- Delivery of content (introduction, body, conclusion):

The easiest way to write content is to have an introduction, discussion of the subject and conclusion. It gives a proper presentation of your article and helps when you experience writer’s block.

E- Edit:

You can edit your content yourself if it is convenient for you otherwise, you can hire someone to do it. Ultimately, make sure you go through your work thoroughly before publishing it.

F- Focus:

Stay focused! This is important because you might be distracted by those successful bloggers that you will lose focus on why you are blogging.

G- Goalsetting:

Personally, I believe you can go far in blogging when you have goals and you accomplish them.

H- Humor:

I say this to new bloggers “always add humour to your stories”. It makes your readers more interested in your blog.

Hashtag:

Don’t forget to include relevant hashtags to your Instagram posts, that is, if you promote your posts on Instagram.

I- Invest:

There are quality items you will need as a blogger such as a good camera, phone, tripod stand, light, and so on.

J- Jesus:

I am not even going to lie, I always pray whenever I feel confused about what to do and most times it gets easier after I pray. You definitely need Jesus 🙂

K- Keywords:

To optimise your blog post for search engines, you will need to familiarise yourself with relevant keywords. There are sites that can make this easier such as Google Trends, Google Keyword Planner, Askthepublic.com and so on.

L- Links:

It is important to include internal links to redirect readers to other posts on your websites and outgoing links to connect readers to other websites.

M- Memories:

Make memories, they come in handy when you need to write quality content. Also, it could help you overcome writer’s block.

N- Notice everything you see:

This point is important when making memories. You have to notice everything when you are out; you can never tell what might inspire you.

O- Opportunity:

Blogging gives you the opportunity to express yourself, show your creativity and be the best you can be. Additionally, you have the opportunity to monetize your blog and earn extra income, so take advantage of every blogging opportunity you have.

P- Photoshoot:

You will need to take various pictures especially if you are a lifestyle, travel, fashion or food blogger. Make sure you take quality pictures.

Q- Quiet time:

Quiet time gives you the opportunity to reflect, mediate and be the best blogger you can be.

R- Rest:

Get enough rest because blogging consumes energy.

S- Social media:

Promote your blog on social media to get more views and engage with your readers.

T- Time management:

You will need to manage your time properly otherwise you might get overwhelmed. Some of the most important things to do as a blogger are: writing, photoshoots, connecting and collaborating with other bloggers, editing and so on.

U- Unique content:

This is just to remind you of the main point of blog, content, unique content! There are several bloggers on the internet so you have to create something of value by being unique. Don’t forget that my dear 🙂

V- Vent:

Oh trust me, you will need to vent sometimes especially if you are a full-time blogger. I will suggest you have a safe place or someone special to vent to that can listen or give adequate advise on whatever bothers you.

W- whimsical:

Be playful, free spirited, unconventional and you will have ideas to blog about.

X- X?

Always leave people guessing, especially when you are working on a project.

Y- Yes-Day:

Give yourself a yesday, if you don’t know what that means, watch the movie “YESDAY“.

Z- Zealous:

Be a Zealous blogger!

If you love this blog, kindly share the posts with your friends and loved ones. It will mean a lot to me to know your thoughts in the comments. Love, Grace
