Recently, I was involved in an ugly accident which left me a bit traumatized. Thank God I wasn’t hurt by the broken glass. In my state of shock, I kept thinking about what would have happened if one of the sharp parts of the glass pierced me.
It took me a while to get it behind. Though it wasn’t an easy process, one of the ways I got better was by listening to one of Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermons on a busy and hurried life.
You might wonder how the unfortunate incident relates to a sermon on a busy and hurried life, well, the plan wasn’t to get better by listening to the sermon, but when I heard it, I started feeling better about what I experienced.
Check out the highlights of Joseph Prince’s sermon on a busy and hurried life below.
- You need to slow down and enjoy living.
- We all want to hurry in life but at what cost?
- Studies shows that there’s a link between type A personality and heart disease.
- Martha in the Bible was worried about serving rather than resting and learning.
- Based on the world’s perspective, Martha was on good standing trying to do what’s right by man but Jesus was more concerned with the heart.
- We shouldn’t pray for victory rather pray from victory because God is always with us and victory is ours.
- Pray and thank God you are healed, the healing may not come immediately but believe.
- Practice mindfulness, be in the now, live in the now, be conscious of the now not in the past (regretting) because now is the time for blessings.
The main point of the sermon is that we shouldn’t be worry about anything, indeed, it is normal for us to be busy and anxious about the future but we need to prioritize what’s keeping us busy and how it is affecting our health.
At the end of the sermon, I made up my mind to stop worrying about what would have happened rather by thankful it wasn’t worse.
