It’s been more than 6 months since we moved to another part of the country; however, I got inspired to write this post after experiencing a serious mental and physical breakdown from our relocation to another part of the UAE. Now that we’ve settled in, I’ll share some tips that made the experience not as difficult as it would have been.

– Make a list of the items you’ll take along to your new home.

– Create a budget for what you need to buy.

– If you are not moving alone, it’s advisable to have effective communication with your partner.

– Choose a big moving truck to move all your items once.

– It’s not easy moving with children, especially babies. Therefore, it’s advisable to get someone to help you.

– Eat, rest and continue packing or unpacking.

– Once you’ve moved, don’t be hasty to finish all the arrangements in a day.

– Label the boxes of items for easy identification.

– Unpack the children’s items first.

– If you are moving to a familiar place, this will be the best time to take your children out when you are stressed from settling in.

– Don’t forget to take your allergy medicine (in case of any allergy in the new environment).

What tips have helped you in the past?

If you love this blog, kindly share the posts with your friends and loved ones. It will mean a lot to me to know your thoughts in the comments. Love, Grace

  1. This is great, thanks for the idea. Moving has never been easy for me, I’m definitely going to make a list for my next move. However one thing I will say is packing ahead of time helps. Last minute packing can make you loose a lot of stuff not just valuable but also sentimental.
